Yan Fu

Yan’s career has been driven by service. After graduating from Columbia Law School, Yan served as a New York State Assistant Attorney General under three successive Attorneys General. There, he represented New York State agencies, including the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, the Parole Board, the State Police, and the State Department of Education. At the Attorney General’s Office, Yan handled matters of significant public and legal importance, several of which developed the law. He has extensive experience handling civil rights and employment law matters in federal and state courts in New York.

Prior to launching The Fu Firm, Yan worked at a well-regarded New York litigation firm.

Yan also volunteers his time with other organizations, including the Sonia and Celina Sotomayor Judicial Internship Program (“SCSJIP”). SCSJIP seeks to cultivate and develop future leaders by placing high school, college, and law students in judicial internships in state and federal courts. SCSJIP’s goal is to increase diversity in the legal profession by educating and empowering students from underserved communities and diverse backgrounds. Yan is the head of the law school division of the SCSJIP and serves on the organization’s board of directors.
